HEADACHES
When Does It Warrant Medical Attention
Red Flags On Headaches
Headaches might be a common medical ailment but certain types of headaches should not be ignored or treated with over-the-counter painkillers. These are the usual warning signs that your headache needs to be checked by a doctor:
— a sudden onset of a severe headache which has never been
— presence of focal neurological fall out is also a ‘red flag’
— raised intra-cranial pressure like nausea & vomiting
— headaches among the elderly / old aged (over 50) should also be carefully monitored
Usually, these severe headaches are often an indicator of a more serious underlying problem. It is better to be on the safe side, get it checked immediately.
